New Minas is located in the Annapolis Valley, known for the world’s highest tides in the Bay of Fundy, stunning landscapes, farmers’ markets, vineyards, wineries, Acadia University, music and theatre festivals and only an hour from Halifax.
The Birchwood Professional Centre is looking for a Family Physician to take over a well-established practice in New Minas (situated between Wolfville and Kentville). This practice is in a newly renovated, well kept, 10 year old building with large windows in every office. There are three other Family Physicians, a Family Practice Nurse, an Office Manager and 2 Psychologists. The administrative assistant for the practice has been with the practice for over 15 years and is very knowledgeable, professional and an excellent resource.
They have been utilizing an EMR since 2006 and patient information is up to date with detailed summaries on each patient. Call and obstetrics are not mandatory, though both are an option if desired and the office is located 7 minutes from the Valley Regional Hospital. Learners are regularly present in the building. Locum coverage for a month each summer and March break has already been arranged and may continue for the long term.
